About a week ago, my husband and I cleaned out our garage and organized the toys and clothes in the house. I had 3 bags to donate to Good Will. 3! I thought about the homeless families and the people that can't even put food on their tables. We don't live an extravagant life, our house is just the right size for the 3 of us, but we have everything we need and are able to support ourselves. When I went to the Good Will drop off in Mission Viejo, there were two men standing by the trucks. Both trucks were full and I was told I couldn't leave my stuff there. I drove to the drop off in Lake Forest and that truck was full also. As I drove home, I thought about all of the excess items that people in this area didn't need anymore. Clothes, toys, dishes, shoes, and decorations. Items that some people only wish they had. A friend of mine recently told me that she donated a box of unused Z Gallerie dishes...oh the excess.

So this year, I'm going to be more mindful of buying things I really don't need. I will try not to purchase unnecessary items. I will try...

What I Wore Wednesday

Today I am linking up with Lindsey at The Pleated Poppy for What I Wore Wednesday. Usually my day consists of making meals, doing laundry, going to the gym or yoga class, errands, lunch dates with friends or family. Do you see a pattern here? I try to put some effort into my outfits but sometimes yoga pants, a tank and hoodie is all I wear.
In the fall and winter I wear these boots a lot! I just can't find shoes I love except my Nike kicks and these boots. Someday...

Totally simple and not super exciting, but... I was comfy and not wearing sweats. Winning :)

For Our Tummies on Tuesday

It's been a busy day so far. Laundry, cleaning, Costco... but no gym yet :( So I rushed home to make a quick lunch and catch up on Days of Our Lives. Suprisingly, not much has changed since I watched it a month ago. heehee

This is one of my favorite quick lunches. We don't eat dairy much around here- my husband is lactose intolerant and Irelyn had a dairy allergy for about half of her life . She is ok with dairy now but we limit it. So the two of them eat this with Vanilla Coconut Milk Yogurt or Soy Yogurt.

All you need is:
Trader Joe's Nonfat Greek Yogurt
Trader Joe's Vanilla Almond Granola Cereal
Raspberries

And doesn't everything taste better in a cute bowl? Enjoy

Peter and Mary Muth Interpretive Center

The Peter and Mary Muth Interpretive Center is located in the Back Bay area of Newport Beach. The Muth Center is surrounded by beautiful walking and biking trails, native plants and animals, and is a nice change of pace for the family. Inside the center, there are exhibits, photos, and videos and the experience is free!

George is 40!

My husband is 40 today! George is an incredible husband and father. Now I know everyone says that about their husband..but I have proof. (We have been together for 17 years..gasp!)

When you meet him, you feel like you are his best friend. He is so personable and just loves life!
He prints out inspirational quotes and hangs them on our daughters bedroom wall
Playing outside in the neighborhood is one of his favorite things to do :)
He massages my feet every night...I'm not kidding
His mind is always thinking, planning, creating

Oh sure, he watches A LOT of football and soccer and leaves his socks on the floor, which I happily deal with... because of the foot rubbing you know ;)
